Dedicated to the Yelpa Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism

Mahamudra and “The Torch of True Meaning”, a Weekend Retreat in Boulder, CO, and via Zoom, Nov 15-17, 2024

“To receive teaching on ‘The Torch of True Meaning’ is to deepen our meditation, in general, and Mahamudra in particular.”

Tana Rinpoche offered this teaching in a weekend retreat November 2024.

“The Torch of True Meaning” by Jamgon Lodro Thaye is one of the most seminal Kagyu texts on Mahamudra. It gives clear and concise instructions on the preliminary and main practices of Mahamudra meditation. For those familiar with the Torch of Certainly, The Torch of True Meaning includes the Torch of Certainty with an additional last chapter on Mahamudra, entitled “Instructions on the Main Practice.” (More Information about this translation of the text here.)

Tana Dungsey Rinpoche will highlight the “most important” points – the Mahamudra aspects. This is a rare opportunity to directly receive a commentary from a Kagyu master and lineage holder on one of the most revered and central texts in Tibetan Buddhism. More seasoned students will enhance their Mahamudra practices, and also gain further appreciation of the fundamentals of the Tibetan Buddhist path.  Newer students will benefit from the  unique insights that Rinpoche offers in the realization and practices associated with a complete Vajrayana path.

This retreat will be offered in-person at the Shamhala Center in Boulder and streaming online.

Clayton Ingerson will offer translation support.
